Does it seem like I am getting a little to (or too, S) broke up about the cocoa puffs being gone? Well I am damn it, I love cocoa puffs and the boxes are not big enough. I also just woke up after a wonderful 3 1/2 hours of sleep today, and I was looking forward to a nice big bowl of my favorite cereal. Instead I have had to settle for about a 1/4 bowl teaser serving. On the up side I guess this small serving does help control the weight.
Today is Halloween and my child is once again getting dressed up..........as any 18 month old should. Last year she was 2 different things for Halloween. Costume #1 was this.........
............that is right she was a cow. My aunt loves cows and bought her this costume. As you can see E was more than happy to wear this. Sorry Aunt V, E was tired and grumpy this day.

So this year we decided to mix things up a little, we are dressing her up as one of those annoying asian beetles. You know the ones that look like ladybugs, but actually they infest the outside, inside, and every where in between parts of your house. And they stink. Ok you got me, none of that is true. We are not making E a stinky bug. She is a ladybug though and a dang cute one at that. I will put a picture up of her later since my wife has decided to not download the pictures that we have of her onto the computer yet. Did I mention that we have had these pictures since last week. Oh well, a little late is better than never.

After talking and thinking and dreaming all weekend with K, I am pretty sure we have decided to start to renovate our bathroom sometime after the first of the year. Our bathroom is very tiny........and gross. Our house was built in 1944 and apparently they did not like big bathrooms (or even medium sized ones) back then and now we are stuck with the one we have. The people who lived in our house for the years and years before us never took shower and only took baths....because they were old....I guess. This means that we have old plaster walls that grow mold like an S.O.B. and we have no tile/shower liner/anything that would be considered "protective" against moisture in our poor little bathroom. Well the other day K pointed out that part of the wall in the shower has now become so soaked with moisture that it is starting to fall down in chunks. Yes I said chunks. When you look in the bathtub at the end of your shower there are literally chucks of our wall gathered up like a little army around the drain and it looks like they are trying to surround a small city. Here is 2 pic's of the bathroom when we first bought the house. They may not be the best pics, but it should give you an idea of the size we are talking about here.
Oh? Didn't I mention we have a window right in the middle of our shower? WELL WE DO!! And I show the neighbors my wang all the time. WHAAAAAA??!?!?! Did I just say that? Yup sure did, sometimes ya just got shake it a little for them to let them know your still there and to say hi!
Ok none of that statement is true. Except the part about the window in the shower which you can plainly see in the pic.
I am going to post one more pic today. It is of K and I on our wedding day. We just got a second CD of our photos from the wedding because we lost the first one.
AHHH, look at that wedded bliss. Obviously this was taken before the rigors of owning a house and having a little gremlin running around tore those smiles off our faces. J/K people!!! I forgot to tell you yesterday that I was on my way to Rodney on Saturday and I got a call on the cell phone from my FIL R. He tells me that he looked at my car and that it was fixed!! HOLY CRAP! When I was investigating the wires for the tail lights I was looking only inside the trunk at the light wires and fixtures. What I did not realize is that the tail lights were actually in the trunk lid and did not look up there. Well R is much more clever than me and did look up. He found a bare wire that was touching metal. So he taped it up to re-insulate it and then put a new fuse in. I'll be damned if it didn't work and is still working. Thanks R!!
The E has been sick all weekend and when you add in that she has a tooth coming in, the weekend was hell. Today she has been pretty good, but she is obviously tired. I think that the tooth may have pushed itself all the way through and she is feeling better. She is laying down right now, which is odd, and we will see how long this nap is. We will also see if she takes one this afternoon so that dad can get some sleep before work tonight.

Well wasn't that a fine night of sleep.......all 2 1/2 hours of it. Yes we went to bed about 11:30 and I couldn't even keep my eyes open. I go to sleep.......I wake up and go back to sleep......I wake up and think that "man that was an awesome night of sleep, it must be about 5:30 or so, maybe I should just get up". It most certainly was not 5:30am.......it was 2:30am and this guy was like "holy hell!!"
So I came downstairs to watch some TV and play on the internet. Does anyone know that there is absolutely no decent TV on between 3-5am? Now the CMT has stopped playing infomercials and music is back. I would have to say that about 2/3 my TV time is spent watching CMT. Yes I like country music, well all music really. I just happen to like country the best, and lets face it, since we live in the middle of farm land I guess it fits.
RODNEY UPDATE? I am so glad you asked! Show starts in 15 1/2 hours.
S, I checked with Mark and there were no extra tickets that he had. I don't know if both shows are sold out or not. I also think that we should make a habit of bowling a few games on Thursdays, just for practice. Maybe you can give me some tips on why my first game is always such shit. I will never get the 600 or 700 series with 145's to start the night.

P.S. Does anyone remember me talking about my marathon dream?? Well that has pretty much went to hell. I hate running, I think I would much rather bike maybe. My knees hurt so damn bad from the running it is ridiculous. On the up side, I have now lost a little over 20lbs compared to last year at this time!
It seems like it has been many days since my last post, instead of just a couple days. This is what tends to happen to me while on nights, I come home and sleep until the target goal of 3 pm. Yesterday, when I was going to post, I had my alarm set for the normal time and I was supper tired so I thought there would be a good chance that I would make it to 3. At 2 I woke up and thought "aw shit, now I will probably be up". This was not the case. I guess I fell back asleep and proceeded to not wake up until 4:15 which means I was now running a little late and I didn't get to spend much time with the E. So it was a hectic run a round to get moving and get to work. Then at work things slowed down a little........for a while. Around 10 pm I was called by my Sgt. and told I was going to be one of the 2 people in charge of moving an unhappy detainee to our Segregation unit.
So at 10:15 my fellow deputy and I went into this unit, went to the guys cell, and asked very politely for him to kneel on the chair and put his hands behind his back to be handcuffed. Well he had a different plan and started to scream and yell and throw a tantrum like a 2 year old. Now I have never claimed to be the most patient man alive, and I had a problem when I first started in this job with my patience. I usually had the "I wear a badge and brown, so you will do what I say" attitude, and it got me no where. I have become increasingly more patient when it comes to dealing with the crooks over my 3 years at the jail, and it is something I am proud of. 2 years ago they never would have let me talk to a crook during an incident, and usually I was just there to do the rough stuff. Well let me say that last night I talked my face off and still ended up doing the rough stuff.
As I talked to this crook, he got back on the chair and I went in to cuff him. Well I got one cuff on and then he started to turn around on me. This was not good. Luckily when I put a little bit of pressure on the cuff and put an arm bar to take the crook to the ground, he became cooperative. The rest of the move went smooth and things were quiet again. Then around 2am a local PD came in with your typical DWI who was going to be a keeper in the jail. He was a little grumpy so Myself and the same deputy from before, went back to change the guy out. Well when the guy was changing a nice wooden box dropped out of his panties. I told the new crook to back up against the wall while my partner picked up the box. Lo and behold the box contained a one hitter weed pipe and a bunch of weed. YEEEE HAAAAAA!!!! It was a good night at the jail.
Have I mentioned Rodney is tomorrow night?? That is right, it is now less than 24hrs away and all I can say is WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
A little while ago I read "Cakerwakers" blog about having a crush on Steve, the old Blu.es Clu.es guy, and I thought it was funny that she would have a mini crush on a TV personality. Well I have to say that I think that I have my own little crush on a celebrity that I have never met and probably never will. Any guesses?? I bet you think it is some young hollywood starlet who is blonde, skinny, and completely stupid. OH NO MY FRIENDS. This is my little star crush.
That is right.......it is the country music star, Sarah Ev.ans! I don't know what it is about her, but every time her new video "As If" comes on the ol CMT, I stop what I am doing and watch it. She is just so beautiful and not your normal celebrity. HELLO SARA, boo Paris!!!!

Went to work tonight and found out that I would be working in our master control unit and was happy with this news. Shortly after 6pm I found out that they had enough people on shift tonight and that my overtime was not really needed. They were busy up until midnight and then I got to go home, which was also sweet. The down side of this, however, is that now I am awake and will probably not be able to sleep until the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Good thing mom is here to take care of E while I sleep tomorrow.
Recently at our facility we have taken on the task of housing all the inmates of 2 near by counties, and we also have received word that we finally have a new lieutenant. We as staff, have found all of this out through the local newspaper. Yes that is right, we did not hear the news of the new lieutenant or the 2 counties worth of inmates that were now coming to our jail through our administration, or a email from the higher ups, or a letter posted in the muster room. NO, we heard it in through the paper. Wow the awesome communication that goes on in the department is amazing.
No word on the car yet. Still going to drive it to work I guess until we can afford to get it fixed. Good thing I will be driving in the early morning, when my fellow uniformed friends who know me are working, will maybe cut me a break if I get stopped before the lights get fixed.
Have I mentioned that we are only 4 days away from THE RODN.EY CARRINGT.ON and his wonderful comedy show that I am going to on Saturday night. WOOOO HOOOO!!!!! Not that I am excited or anything.
I have now run out of things to say for now, so I am going to watch the DVR and catch up with those Desperate Housewives.

So I find out this morning that my car had no taillights. It had rear blinkers, brake lights, and emergency flashers, but no running tail lights. So I check the fuse, replace the fuse, and everything works again. Then I go to bowling. We leave bowling and I get a call from one of my teammates saying that I have no tail lights. SHIT!! So I change the fuse again, and it blows immediately. So I put at 15 amp in, and that lasts about 2 miles and that fuse also blows. SHIT!!! So I put a 25 amp in just so I can get home with taillights. This did not work. About 200ft after I started driving again, we smelled burning/melting in the car. I stopped and took the 25 out and drove home with emergency flashers on now dreading the cost involved in fixing this car. Have I said SHIT yet???
Fortunately tonight at bowling I did pretty well. I started out like crap with a 147 in the first game, but rebounded with a 196 and a 191 in the second and third games. We only won 2 points out of 7, so our team did crap. This will definitely put us out of 2nd in our league.
Work was work the last 2 nights, and I am happy that this is my short week. My friend KQ and I are going to the range tomorrow and to do some shooting before I go to work. It should be a good stress reliever before I work my OT shift tomorrow night.
That is about all for now so I will close for the night. Cars suck and bowling does not. I still need a new ball.

Last night was actually a good night at work. A normal "busy" weekend for our jail would be 26 book-ins throughout the weekend. Well last night our intake deputy had 13 people booked before midnight. The I get a call about 1:30am from my Sgt. asking me to come to intake to help out and that he was sending a fellow deputy into my unit to help out. YES!!!! Intake happens to be the one part of my job that I absolutely LOVE. I seem to excel while working here and I think that is because it is a constant challenge. I think I like it so much because it is a always changing situation, and you are always dealing with different types of people. Unlike working in a unit, where you deal with the same assholes who have been there for months and no longer have respect for those of us who work there, and think that they can do what ever they want. If only I had a taser......... Anyways we ended up booking another 11 people after midnight. Wow what a night.
Tomorrow my mom comes for the whole week! It should be fun and I hope to be able to spend some quality time with her and E.

It is now almost 8:30 at night and our DVR is busy taping all of the shows we like. Since we decided to make the switch to dish in order to get this wonderful invention, we very rarely watch the shows when they are on the TV. Instead we record them, and then watch them at a later time so that we don't have to watch any commercials. Is that ridiculous or what? In fact I actually find myself getting annoyed when watching normal TV because I can't fast forward through the commercials........if only they could find a way to pause, rewind, AND fast forward live TV! I would totally spend money to get that.
Speaking of money, we have none. I love this feeling......or not so much. It was pay day for K and I today from the county and I gotta be honest, almost all of our paychecks are spent already. SHOOT ME NOW!!!!! So we have decided to cut this shit out and start being frugal. K went shopping tonight after work and I don't think we have ever bought so much non-name brand things. This is ok however, because I am sick and tired of being broke. So there will be no more McD's, no more "just a couple of beers" at bowling, no more running to the gas station and spending $4-6 on junk food and pop, and no more pay-per-view movies on the ol dish. By the way, we were so dumb last month we spent WAY to much on pay-per-view....NOOOOOOOOOOO! I can take no more I tell you.
On the brighter side, my kid is cute as pie.
Hey wait.......KT?........do I smell your dog????? Jesus that thing stinks!! Oh and congrats to S for starting his own blog. I hope it is just as enjoyable as your X.BOX 360!

We are definitely sick. I am feeling like crap, K is feeling like crap, and I am pretty sure E is to because she took 2 naps yesterday and was in bed by 8. Now she is down already and its only 8:30. I think that there must be a little of the flu or something going around because everybody at work feels like crap, and here at the house we have been giving to each other, back and forth, for about 3 weeks now. Yesterday I was up by 1pm and was falling asleep on the couch at 7. I was in bed by 8:45 last night and slept all night long until E woke up at 7 this morning.
Nothing really exciting happened yesterday and I don't see any different outcome for today either. My mom comes on Sunday and we can't wait. We had so much fun last time she was here, and I know she did to.
Rodn.ey Carring.ton is a little over one week away now and I am getting excited. It should be a great time and lots of fun will be had. This weekend, however, is the time that the community gets to vote on the pics that were taken a few weeks ago. They will be voting for the cutest baby. We won't find out if E won the modeling thing until tomorrow, but if she didn't then she could win the cutest baby contest.
E is back in bed and I think that is where I may go as well. I will post more later when I don't feel like poo.

Today I slept pretty good and decided to get up around 2. I have since washed the dishes, made spaghetti for lunch, and also made some for K and E for dinner. I am now doing a little laundry so that the stuff that I have put off folding until now will no longer be wrinkled.
In a little under 2 hours I will be leaving for work and there is only 12 hours before I am off again for 2 days.
I am watching one of my favorite shows right now, and that is "little.people.big.world" This week they went to Yosemite National Park and I must say it looks beautiful! I think I would love to go there some day. Maybe a road trip for the family is in the future.
Well I would love to blog more but I must keep going and getting ready.

It is now 3:35pm and my attempt at sleep has failed. It is rainy and dreary and the perfect environment for sleeping. FOR ANYONE EXCEPT ME I GUESS. My body, who thinks it knows everything, has decided that I should be awake to sit downstairs and look out the window at the drops coming down. Thank you body..........I loathe you.

I was about to leave this AM with E so that we could run some errands in town before we met up with KT and her friend KT. My SIL KT, is taking E to the mall today with her friend and they should have fun. But back to the story. Just as I was about to leave the phone rang so I answered it. Apparently the douche bag that I talked about the other day settled out of court and I did not have to go and testify today!! F**KING RIGHT DOGGIE!!! To say the least I am WAY happy that I did not have to go.
So E should have fun at the mall today, and every time I have gone with her she is saying 'hi' to all the people that walk by. She also loves to look at, and touch all the stuff on the racks, so Aunt KT should have her hands full.
I now get to sleep this afternoon so that I can stay awake all night at work. Just a bit over 4 weeks left of night before we switch again!! I know I bitch a lot about nights, but I honestly think that one of the worst things is that by the time you get used to the schedule, it is time to switch back to days. This means that there is no time in the 3 months that you are on nights that you are totally on track and in the right frame of mind. All I ask Lord is to please help me through these last few weeks

This is the Springfield XD .40 caliber, subcompact handgun. This is the little gem that I am going to buy if I get some gift cards to Cabela's.
2.
This is the Ebonite Total NV bowling ball. This should be my next ball. It is sweet. This will be the first non-Storm that I have owned in quite some time.
.....used to have small trees and weeds all around it, the paint was worn off, and it was just a dump. Now it is painted this green color, it is getting new windows, and as of this weekend it now has a new roof. It looks really nice and is such a change.
This is our next door neighbor's house. Her house also had very little paint, bad roof, and was also kind of a dump. This is the house before and after.

On Thursday morning my FIL (who was watching E) gets this call from a law firm from a near by town saying they wanted to talk to me. He told them that I was sleeping and they said they would call back at 5pm. And call they did. Apparently the place I used to sell boats at is getting sued by a former customer and because I sold the boat during this deal, I now am involved in this law suit. This means that instead of sleeping and getting ready for work on Monday of this coming week, I get to be in court at 1pm to testify about this damn boat sale that happened almost 3 years ago. This particular job I really liked, and the customers were great. The owner, however, is a giant douche bag and a crook, and should be residing where I now work which is JAIL.
The man is a huge crook and has that rep all throughout the area. And still people still buy boats from this prick. We did not see eye to eye and had many disagreements. I left this place almost 3 years ago and have not spoke with anyone from this place (with the exception of Joyce, who is a wonderful lady) since I quit. The owners screwed me out of a lot of money when I left and I would gladly punch this guy in the balls instead of shaking his hand, if I saw him out on the street. So I am not to happy that I have to testify in court to help this douche out. I wish I could tell the court that he is a piece of crap and that he is lucky that he is not sued more.
I can't believe I have to go to court for this dick, and I haven't even had to go to court while working for the Sheriffs Department.
Today I got up at noon and did a bunch of work around the house. I burned a lot of stuff, I washed the outside windows, put the summer yard decorations away, and cleaned out the garage. I also started to clean out the flower beds. Tomorrow I will finish cleaning out the beds, rake and continue to burn leaves, sticks, and other misc wood pieces I have laying around.
We are also having some friends over tomorrow night for a bonfire (see I can spell right with a little help) and hopefully it will be a bit on the colder side. As I have said before, I love cool/cold weather bonfires. A nice cold bottle of peppermint schnapps also goes well with the fall/winter bonfires. Who doesn't like a little warm me up.

Ok so I realize that my last post was not the most grammatically correct, and thank you for making that perfectly clear. You do have to realize that I am a man and this is going to be my excuse for making the mistakes.
Work was actually good last night, mostly because I did not have to go in until 10pm. It is amazing how much better the night can go if you only have to put up with half the normal BS that you normally do. One more night and then the weekend off.
So far this year I have worked a little over 320hrs of OT. I have decided that I cannot do this much again next year. My strings are pulled about as tight as they can go and I now find myself going in everyday just to collect the paycheck. I still do my job the best I know how, but it has just lost some of the interest that it used to have. And so I will work a little less and take more time with my family next year. I was reading our policy manual at work last night and it states that we are actually encouraged to take more than the normal amount of time off because our job is stressful.......I guess.
Wow this sure turned into a "pity party" for Greg post.
Soon I will have the last picture I need of our neighbor's resided house and will post them for you all to see how our block is changing.
K told me yesterday that she and E are going to some candle party this Saturday and that means I will have a whole lot of time by myself to get work done around the house. My feelings are mixed about this. On one hand I am excited to be able to work and not have to feel guilty because K is in the house with E and I am not helping out. On the other hand I will be missing some family time that E could be outside and playing in the leaves (thanks for the spelling lesson Teachbroeck!!) I am sure that E and K will have fun and I do have the whole weekend with them.
Well I must now go and get ready for the work.

Because today is Wednesday, this means that I only have 24 hours of work in 2 days before I have the whole weekend off! I can't wait to spend some time at home. We are going to do some fall clean up, ok well I will be doing most of the fall clean up while K is playing with E in the leafs (or is it leaves?) that I will be raking. Hopefully this wind that we have had the past couple days will die down some so that we can have a cool weather, fall bond fire on Saturday night. I have lots to burn and would like to get rid of some of it before the snow flies. Have any on you ever had a winter bond fire? If you get a nice calm night and have some snow on the ground you should try a bond fire. They are great.
Well I am going to take some pictures of the 2 crappiest houses on our side of town where we live. I wish i had pics from before they were fixed up. Well now they are both fixed up or getting fixed up and pretty soon our house (which is not bad looking) will be the dumpiest house on the block. Perhaps I will repaint this summer to the color that we really want instead of light gray like we have now. We also are going to do some landscaping to make the curb appeal better.
K and I have been talking more and more about trying to have our second poop machine some time soon. We are thinking about starting to try in January or February, and I am a bit excited and nervous all at the same time. I think that having a second would make us a nice little family, in a cosy little house, in our cosy little town. On the other hand I really am not looking forward to the first 4-6 months of the baby's life again. I love little E with all my heart and would not trade her for anything. I just really hated the newborn cry, the constant holding, the waking up during the night, and so on. On the other hand E did things when she was a baby that I wished she would do now, such as lay on me and fall asleep. Now you can barely get her to sit on the couch for more than 2 seconds. So I think we will try and see what happens.
The weather is turning cold and the leafs (there is that word again) are falling and this is my favorite time of year. Side note, I hate snow. Love the cold, hate the snow........make sure to keep that straight. Get it? Got that? Good! HA

Today is suppose to be my day off from work but. 5 times a year we have mandatory training in the ol jail and today is one of those days. We have to be there at 8am and it lasts till 4pm. Normally these days are easy (and I am sure this one will be to) and we get done early. This training happens to be use of force training and usually is a fun day. Today, however, the head of our programs department decided she would take up the ENTIRE morning (8am-noon) talking about new programs in the jail and how wonderful she is. PUKE!!!!!!!!
I have also heard from the group last week that we do not get out early at this training and that it goes right up to 4pm. GAY! Then I was smart and decided I would help another crew out tonight and work from 6pm to midnight. OT is great, but what the hell was I thinking? So today will be a 18hr day for me by the time it is all said and done. I brought it on myself and now I wish there was a way to get out of working till midnight. How can I can I get out of this damn OT shift? Wait I have an idea.....maybe I will break a hand or blow out a knee or something of the like so that I don't have to work tonight and I would be on light duty till everything heals. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Last night was bowling and it went well. We had a great time and I got a great pic of my friend KQ with his balls. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new bowling shoes.
I have had the same pair of bowling shoes for many years now and I have worn a hole through the slide pad (the white part of the shoe shown above) on my old pair, so last week I ordered the ones above. I can't wait to get them. UP.S tracking says they are in RW as we speak and they will be delivered today........when I am not home, DAMN IT.
I guess that will about do it for now. I have been up since 4am and getting E's bag packed for her trip to T and H's today, finishing drying clothes, putting away things, and getting myself ready for the day.

Not much going on this weekend as I have to work. It has gone pretty fast, but I wish it would be done so that I wouldn't have to go in tonight.

Do you know what I hate? Cat pee. That is what I hate. I do like cats and I do like the cats we have. I don't like cleaning cat pots and the smell it creates in our damp basement, but the smell will get better when we get a dehumidifier down there again. It is all part of having cats I guess.
I woke up this morning at 4:30 AM and came downstairs. I walked into the spare bedroom that I keep my clothes in to get my slippers and everything was fine. Later, around 6, I gave E her breakfast and went back into said bedroom to get my clothes so I could wash my uniform for work tonight. What happened while in the bedroom you might ask? Well I smell the distinct odor that is cat pee. I thought someone peed on some clothes that were on the floor so I smelled the clothes, the carpet on the floor of the closet, the rug in front of the closet, and nothing.....it all smelled fine. I thought that maybe I was just imagining the smell. Then I turned around.
The spare bed had a HUGE pee spot on our nice down comforter, and I say "oh no" but still figure that it is just on the comforter and that I can wash that. Upset but not yet pissed. Then I lift the comforter up and up you guessed it, a HUGE pee spot on that to. More upset but still not pissed. Then I lift up the second comforter and there was yet more pee, and it was soaked all the way through the sheets and onto the mattress. MEGA pissed at this point.
WHAT THE HELL!!!! At one time we did have a cat that peed and we found out he was sick and that he could not hold his bladder. We put him down. I don't think that our present cats are having problems like that because this is the first pee problem we have had in over 2 years.
My opinion? I think that they are totally pissed at us because E now gets all the attention and we tend to just shoo them away.
Not a good start to the day.

Is that chick cute or what?? And she is not shy!! Every since our vacation when Uncle S taught miss E to stick out her belly, she does this pose all the time, usually with clothes on though.
Man she is going to hate me in 14 more years when I show this pic to her boyfriend. HA HA I am evil.
