Monday after

So this is what Monday after the hockey feels like.

I am very tired, have the start of a good cold, and I have PINK EYE!!! How the hell do you get pink eye when you sit in a little, heated plywood box all day, all weekend????? Hell I did not even drink very much beer.

The only payment I receive for working the weekend is food, and all you can drink beer for free. This used to be ok, but now that I cannot drink like I used to, it is not near as appealing as it used to be. I love hockey, and love to help out at the tournament, but it used to be a lot easier to sit in that damned booth all weekend when I was pure wasted. For example, on Saturday, the first time I spent more than 60 seconds outside was after 10 pm at night. Long day of hockey is what that equals.

Ah well, working that tournament is pretty much a tradition now. This year was my 13th year working, and it is kind of cool to see the same people and teams year after year. It also makes it hard to stop once you have so many years in. I have always said that I would not stop working until the Mayor stops playing, but damn, it just keeps going!

It is good to be home and be able to spend time with the E, and K of course!

Yippie Friday

wow hockey is fun!!

WEd.Nes.Day, here I come.

Yesterday I had training at the workplace. I am finding it harder and harder to get motivated by things at work. It is just so..........well I don't know the right words I want to use, but things are iffy at best.

E spent the day with pappa yesterday and I think they had fun. She was ready for bed almost immediately after we got home. So we ate some supper, and then E went to bed around 7:30. I then was in bed by 8 and slept all night until E woke up this morning at 7. I think I was tired!!

Well its back to work tonight and then I am off for the weekend. I am going to a hockey tourney this weekend with a friend of mine whose wedding I am in this summer. Last year I was not able to go, so it should be fun this year!! It is in Hayward and it will be fun to be back in my home town for a weekend. K is not looking forward to this but I keep telling her it will be fine. I think I am going to talk to my guy friends and see about doing a "guys weekend" every year. Then K and her friends can do one of those as well. I think it would do us both some good to have a weekend away every now and again.

Well I am getting yelled at by E to come and watch Dora, so I will call it a post.

Ehhhh, it's Monday

I got done at work last night at midnight to come home and get some sleep before E woke up this morning, since daycare is closed again today. All was well until I tried to go to bed. I took some Tylenol PM and tried to lay down. This did not work. I was up until 3:30am and then E was up at 7. She laid down at 10:15 for a nap so I thought I would lay down as well. This also didn't work. That is ok though because I am spending a very fun day with my little girl!!

Going to eat with our friend T and her daughter H tonight before we head off to a meeting with the business owners we have been talking to. We are going to check out the store, mess around a bit, and chit chat more about buying. It should be fun and E will have a chance to go back to T's house and play with her little buddy H!

Happy Easter

Well I have been working all weekend. Makes for no interesting posting. I have officially missed Easter, which means I have also missed spending time with my beautiful wife and daughter on Easter.





Missing this time really gets to me, and I have been a bit grumpy about it. I would kill for a normal 8-430 or 9-5 job that had no weekends.

That was quite the rant. Sorry to dump all that on you all. It is just real frustrating when you have a coveted "county" job that is suppose to be so wonderful, but then turns out to be such a joke. I love when you get a raise and you actually take home less after your raise than you did before your raise. Tax brackets can suck my b@lls!!

On the brighter side, my daughter hates to have clothes on lately. For no reason at all she walks up to you and says "off......pants off". This better not be a trend throughout her life!! Ha that was a joke people. Time to laugh :)

Please explain to me something. Why is it that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS can get assistance, free medical programs, food assistance programs, and other free services from the state of MN (all of which you need a valid social security number.) while hard working people who do the right thing and need just a little help to get by, get no help what so ever? OHHHH and these social security numbers that the illegals provide are often paid for, and are obviously not from another hispanic person. OHHH and the counties know that these are purchased numbers and not really the person who is standing in front of them, and yet they still get the free programs.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH OUR COUNTRY??????

Why does it seem the harder you work and do the right thing, the more you get punished for it?

It is like I seriously work with 13yr olds. Its all a bunch of gossip, backstabbing, and trying to set people up to get them in trouble. One guy at work I think I would consider a true friend. The rest are pretty much a bunch of kids who can fuck off.



SOOOOOOO, I have decided that I am officially starting an active new job search.

It was a nice day today and the fam and I spent some time outside after dinner. E also spent a lot of time at daycare playing outside today. She is now very tired and/or she already has her period. Seriously.

OUCH!!

Have you ever slept so hard that you wake up with a headache?? I have done this today. I must have been really tired when I came home from work this morning!

Not much exciting going around here. I went to my first meeting of the RW Photography Club last night and it was a good time. Learned a little, laughed a lot, and got some really good feedback on the photos I submitted to this months challenge. All in all, a great experience!

Then I went to work. It was work. Not much else to say about that. I have to work again tonight. OH how I hate the long weeks at work. This is my idea..........I will just work ZERO days a month and still get paid for the hours that I do not work. Yup, I think this plan will work.

Hopefully I will have a more exciting post for you all tomorrow.

Sleep Deprived Como Zoo Action

Today we decided to make our way up to the cities and visit Como Zoo. We walked around and looked at numerous animals and then we, well mostly me, went into the conservatory and took some pictures of the winter flower show. I think I got some good pics and it was actually a lot of fun. Soon they will be starting their spring flower show, which I hope to make it back up there to take some more pics. I hope to get shots of each season that they display throughout the year.

Feeling Better

Well today went better than I thought it might yesterday. After 2 full days of antibiotics I am actually feeling pretty good. E went to daycare today and I had the day to rest. After K and E hit the road this morning I went back to bed until almost 11:30!! I then got up and went to Roch to try on a shirt for a wedding I am in this fall. It fit and looked nice, which made me feel good. It is a chocolate brown color and hides the tummy awfully well!


I then stopped by Silver Lake and took some pictures of the geese that were flying around. I was happy to be out of the house and enjoying the (somewhat) warm weather we had again today.


I have noticed that it has been a while since any photos of my beautiful daughter have made their way onto the ol' blog, so I am going to put a couple on that I took last night.




When I got home I talked to the wife and finalized the dinner plans we had with her parents, aunt and uncle, grandpa (who don't get to see that often), and her prego cousin. It was a good time, good food, and good company.

Well that is about all she wrote for this day. I get to work OT (BOOOOOO) tomorrow night and then have off on Sunday. We are talking about going to a flower/plant/tree conservatory on Sunday afternoon. It should be fun since I missed the last time K and E went with my family.

Its been real, its been fun, in fact......its been real fun! Good night.

My Turn

Well it has officially become my turn on the sick wheel. I stayed home from work last night and will do the same again today. I went to the doc today and it was determined that I have strep. Yippie:(

Since I am allergic to ampacilin, I could not have the shot that my lovely wife has been able to get........twice. So I am on antibiotics that I would definitely call horse pills. Yuck.

So I will not head upstairs to get some rest and hopefully I will be able to walk around outside with K and E tonight when they get home. It is suppose to be above 50 today so I turned off the heat for now and opened a couple of windows to get some fresh air in the house. OH....and the cats like it to!!

2 warm days in a row

Not that I know what it was like to enjoy either of them. Yesterday my child was sick and we ended up in urgent care for 2 hours. Then today my throat and body hurts, and I am tired as hell. I slept all night and had a great sleep. I feel like I could sleep all day today. Ugggg.

The child got a bunch of tests run and they came back with nothing. Then she got a shot in the butt. I have been with her all day today, and she is definitely better after the shot. She is still a little whiny today, but overall better. Good for her, iffy for me.

Time to go and cater to the child more.

No more hockey......I promise (for now)

Well it is another warm (for us) day in ol Minnesota. It is suppose to be almost 40 today, and that is pretty sweet. I was thinking I might pack up the E and myself and head out out on some adventure. Then she woke up with a 100.5 temp and so I think we may stay home and cuddle.

It was a less than interesting weekend at work. Nothing happening, nothing interesting. I made a joke about our facility at like 3am to one of my co-workers and we laughed. My sergeant also heard it, and he did not laugh. In fact he was pissed. Hopefully I don't have to go speak to a high up about it. I will pretty much be pissed if I do. I could go on and on about our facility and the things that are getting out of hand, but I will save you all from that little bit of torture. Maybe in a different post.

Was out in the sunshine yesterday for a while, I had my camera with. Got some good pics, and a couple that I am REALLY happy with. My Photo Blog has a couple of the shots I took.

We met with the owners of the prospective business we are thinking of buying with KT and S. They were great!! The talk made S so excited that he had to leave the meeting because he could not stand the thrill he was getting. I also had this same feeling. I was thinking so much about this business that I could barely concentrate on bowling. I did horrible. But I am mega excited about this business and the fact that our dreams might actually become a reality!!

HOCKEY........Day 3?

Yes that is right, its day number 3. I will be going to bed and getting some sleep now, so I will be taping this mornings games. At work tonight I will be making the crooks watch it all night.



Most do not like hockey but yet it will be on tv. Remember, I do work in a place that houses criminals. I do see the worst of the worst, and yes I like to mess with them. Because I can. And yes it makes me chuckle inside when we put on hockey or nascar, because they get pissed. Really.


I have become a hard and calloused man. I should be ashamed of myself. AHHHHH HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HAHA HA HA. Ok, had to let that out. Please remember that these are criminals I am talking about. The same people that would not think twice about selling crack to your sons or daughters. That is why I mess with them.

Good Morning Tuesday!!!...........

Ok fine, it is not morning (except in my world) it is actually 3pm. I walked out of work this morning to a somewhat blue sky and the sun, yes I said sun, coming up!! It is a sure sign that this cold and snow crap is on its way out. I hate going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. On my way home I drive straight through the heart of farm country and although I bitch about it sometimes, it does produce some great sunrise moments. I happened to have my camera with me this morning and snapped this shot.

Sometimes it is ok to live in the boonies.

In other news, I went to the doc yesterday because I have been having a problem with my right ring finger. The knuckle that is right above the finger nail has been sore for the last couple of weeks and had gotten to the point that I could not really grip stuff well with it.

Ok well let me back up for a second. Last October I had got the same said knuckle slammed in a steel door at work and it hurt. After a couple of days though, it was back to normal. Then after use of force training last week it got real sore and has stayed that way. So yesterday I go into the doc and tell him what is wrong. He looks at it, squeezes it, bends it (not like Beckham though), and finally tells me what he thinks. He explains that when the door slammed on it, it probably broke. Then with the bowling and with some of the things I have to do at my job, it probably never quite healed. Then he says that the training last week had probably re-aggravated it, or even might have broke it again. Then the bomb drops.

NO MORE BOWLING FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! WHY!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? Ugggh, it was like a kick in the stomach. I love my bowling. I love how I am doing in my bowling. There are seriously only about 5 nights of bowling left. Of those 5 nights I will be able to attend 3. I think I am going to say piss on it and finish out the season. I know you will not like this K, but 3 more nights is not that bad, and my finger does not hurt during or after bowling (which is kinda weird).

So this is my way of breaking the news to S that I am not suppose to bowl the rest of the season, but I am going against the docs orders and will be there on Thursday night.

Middle of the night......

Well it is now 4am and I have been up since 12:30am. I went to bed around 7pm because I could not keep my eyes open any longer. Last night I was up until 3:30am and then got up with E and K at 8am. I am sleeping like shit and I am already tired of it. ARRGGGGGGGG!!!!!
